Trail Ride Options
Important information for booking
HBRS HELMET POLICY
Due to the inherent risk involved in horseback riding, all participants must wear a correctly fitted helmet and sign a release form before being permitted to ride.
Please arrive 15-20 minutes early for your ride to allow for helmet fitting and waiver signing so your ride can depart the stable on time.
Due to the size of our horses our approximate weight limit is 250 balanced lbs. If you are a larger person please be sure to mention this and speak to a Wrangler before booking your ride.
We require 24 hours notice for cancellations a credit card number will be taken when booking and will be charged 1/2 the price of the ride for no shows.
Running Buffalo (30 minutes)
This ride is no longer available on a daily basis. Please contact us to make special arrangements.
This trail is reserved for school groups or other preorganised groups.
Our half hour trail ride is perfect for beginners. This is an easier ride that will take you on newly cut trails around our property and neighbouring cattle fields on beautiful Manitoulin Island, Ontario.
Please call ahead and book your ride as soon as possible. All trail ride bookings are first come, first choice.
Cost is $30 per person (incl HST)
Renegade's Trail (1 hour)
Summer trail rides leave the stable:
Monday-Saturday at 9:30, 11:30, 1:30, 3:30 (and 5:30 by reservation only. Prepayment is required)
Sundays at 11:30, 1:30, and 3:30
Please call ahead and book your ride as soon as possible. All trail ride bookings are first come, first choice. Please note: the minimum age requirement for this trail ride is 10 years old. All riders must fit our equipment to be permitted to ride. This trail follows a path over scenic open field lookouts and dense forests at a walking pace. Suited to all riding abilities; this is our most popular trail.
Cost is $50 per person (incl HST)
Calhoun's Drive (2 hours)
2 hour summer trail rides leave the stable:
Monday-Saturday at 9:30am
Please call ahead and book your ride as soon as possible. All trail ride bookings are first come, first choice Please note: the minimum age requirement for this trail ride is 12 years old.
Calhoun's drive takes an challenging trail through rugged hills, dense forest and up to some spectacular lookouts. This ride includes areas to trot the horses depending on the skill level of the group. It is a very popular trail for those with some riding experience already.
Cost is $85 per person (incl HST)
The Lone Ranger
Are you up for an all day adventure on horseback?
This day of horseback riding lasts 5 - 6 hours, depending on ability/desire of all riders.
Please bring a lunch; we'll store it in saddle bags and stop for a relaxed, peaceful break.
This is an all-day journey into the Manitoulin wilderness in the best way possible: on horseback.
This ride requires Booking 48hrs ahead and a $50/person deposit.

The Wrangler Overnight
Please note: the minimum age requirement for this trail ride is 12 years old.
A fantastic Horseback Adventure through beautiful and varied terrain, the wrangler overnight adventure is a great way to spend time in the Manitoulin wilderness.
This trail ride leaves the stable at about noon and returns to turn out the horses. It includes snacks, dinner cooked over a campfire, breakfast the next morning and about 8-10 hours on horseback. The evening is free for guests to join in and experience life as a wrangler or enjoy more of the Manitoulin sights. Guests can also enjoy a beautiful lookout from our apple orchard while they stay in our new bunkhouse. The next day can be spent bringing in the horses and
1 on 1 time with the horse brushing, tacking and more trail riding and/or swimming.
We can also offer a discount for groups that only some want to ride.
