The best way to experience the breathtaking scenery and wildlife of Northern Ontario's Manitoulin Island is from the back of a horse!
Located in the heart of beautiful Manitoulin Island, Honora Bay Riding Stable offers an exciting horseback riding adventure you won't soon forget! We provide a variety of trail rides and overnight excursions on trails through the surrounding forests, hilltop fields, and along the Niagara Escarpment.
We are a short 15 minute drive from Little Current, and central to the island's many attractions. Awesome Clinic with Chris Irwin
by Gina Geick
Thank you to Chris Irwin for making the long trip out to Manitoulin Island. And, thank you to the 50+ spectators who came out to Honora Bay Riding Stable on Thursday, May 24th to watch Chris' two hour demonstration - on the ground and under saddle (even if it was a 'little girl's saddle', according to Chris)
8 participants used their own horses as well as traded horses and expanded on their ground work and riding skills over the 2 day clinic.
It's really quite something to see 8 horses including a young stallion in one riding arena, calm, level, completely relaxed, and focused on their handlers.
In the end we did have one rider dismount involuntarily - hope you are recovering well, Manon!
Here are a few pictures from the clinic.. there's more in the Photo Gallery »
