Welcome to Honora Bay Riding Stable

remember

The best way to experience the breathtaking scenery and wildlife of  Northern Ontario's Manitoulin Island is from the back of a horse!

Located in the heart of beautiful Manitoulin Island, Honora Bay Riding Stable offers an exciting horseback riding adventure you won't soon forget! We provide a variety of trail rides and overnight excursions on trails through the surrounding forests, hilltop fields, and along the Niagara Escarpment.

We are a short 15 minute drive from Little Current, and central to the island's many attractions. Over 20 well trained horses are waiting to take you out on trails led by our experienced guides who carry first aid gear and communication technology to ensure your safety. Whether you have never seen a horse in person or you're a seasoned rider, we've got a fun experience waiting for you!

In addition to trail rides we offer year round riding lessons with a certified CHA instructor. Take a tour through our website and explore all the options we have to offer.

And don't forget our July and August daily Summer Horse Camp for kids aged 8-15! See you at the barn!

Our Facilities

Honora Bay Riding Stable is always evolving and forever expanding Laughing

You will find us on Honora Bay Road, just 10 minutes outside of Little Current where we have been located since 2002.

Our stable accommodates over 30 horses, with 8 roomy box stalls and 16 standing stalls for our trail horses. Other facilities include a 76' x 200' outdoor riding ring, a 66' x 120' indoor riding arena from Winkler Canvas, attached viewing/class room, a shady round pen, large pastures and paddocks, and much more.

In 2011 we added an area with 2 box stalls and 1 standing stall for boarding or visiting horses as well as a separate paddock.

The spring of 2012 saw us tearing apart most of the stable to upgrade feeders and such; a big Thank You goes out to our volunteers who worked tirelessly to help get this big job done!

Can-Am "Just Add Horses Environment Award"

Can-Am/Just Add Horses Environment Award

Honora Bay Riding Stable is the proud recipient of the 2011 "Just Add Horses Environment Award" which was presented to Kyla Jansen at the Can-Am All Breeds Show in London, Ontario.

Our facilities are powered by solar panels and our horses get their water from frost-free nose pumps when out in pasture.

Indoor Riding Arena Manitoulin IslandLearning to ride a horse is a very rewarding experience for kids and adults alike.  Learn to ride confidently on the trails, participate in western game events or even learn to jump, all under the instruction of Kyla Jansen, our CHA level 4 certified English and Western riding instructor.
